Dear Friend, Love. It's what drives what we do. It's why myself, our team, our international leaders, and our students in nine countries wake up each day to give of their time and money, and even risk their professional reputations and careers. It's love for a mom who is scared and alone, not sure where she'll sleep or how she'll get food for her preborn baby. For a dad who is wondering how to help his pregnant girlfriend. It's this love that has rescued 51 moms and their babies from abortion through Pro-Life Global trained students and volunteers, made possible by mission partners like you. It's love for a mom who gave into fear and chose abortion. It's love for the dad who paid to abort his child. And it's what drives God's actions toward us. It's what made Jesus lay down his life. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 "I appreciated your perspective of compassion," said a lady after joining the training I gave last night in Texas on how to talk with a pro-choice friend. "I'd never heard it put that way before." Her comment was bitter sweet. I was happy that she'd walked away with a new heart of love for those we speak with who may have experienced abortion. But sad that abortion isn't always addressed in this way. One out of three women over age 45 in the US have experienced abortion. Globally, it's probably higher. Multiple peer-reviewed studies show that women who experience abortion have an 81% increased risk of mental health problems, 155% increased risk of suicidal behaviors, and 220% increased risk of marijuana use/abuse. This means that many men and women are walking around suffering and they need to know that there is love for them. Just as much as there is love for the mom who is pregnant out of wedlock and ashamed. Jesus' love is enough to cover every sin! P.S.
