Starting Jamaican Pro-Life Groups!

Wah gwaan?! This is Jamaican Patwah for "What's going on?" That's right, I am in Jamaica!

The last few days have been so packed, I haven't had a chance to even let you know about this trip, so that's why I am typing this during Melanie's presentation called, "The Adventurous Pro-Life Life Style", aka chastity. At the moment she's discussing the question, "How far is too far?" "How about we just don't go near the cliff to avoid the near occasion of sin."

We're hosting a workshop in Kingston for high school students about why to be pro-life and how they can practically save lives by starting pro-life clubs in their high schools. Several local Christian pro-life organizations invited us to help them equip their youth to be leaders for life.

Many of the students haven't done anything pro-life before. Although abortion isn't legal in Jamaica, during my presentation a few minutes ago on the biblical and scientific reasons to be pro-life, 1/4 students said that they know someone who has experienced abortion. This lines up with the estimates of between 10,000 and 22,000 abortions every year nationwide. Between 1 in 5 and 1 in 3 Jamaican babies are killed before birth.

Later this afternoon we'll be asking students to answer the call to be modern day heroes and save lives in their schools. These will be the FIRST pro-life student clubs ever in Jamaica!
